Honestly I think this is a good move. Half of the time when I've seen friends liking some of those silly "like sites", I've wanted to comment on how ridiculous the catchphrase was or similar, and now I can do that.

And of course, now if someone likes a legitimate page, such as a movie, game, or whatever it might be, we're now able to engage in a bit of friendly banter about it. I don't always praise developments at facebook, but I don't mind this one in the slightest.

they (fb) need the money to fund the ultimate goals directed by CIA and the globalists. FB was funded using CIA seed money (same as google/twitter) and is used to collect internet activity, never put your real info on FB and constantly access from different points. Just use it for what it is. NEVER give them money to use as a weapon against you.

It is a different approach to searching. Remains to be seen how successful it will be in the long term. Woudn't be surprised if Google started doing things like this at some point.

It seems like a really interesting piece of cloudware. I'm always interested in sites and technologies that bring something new to the search engine premise. I've signed up for an alpha trial, looking forward to giving it a go.

Fair comment. There is no doubt most Twitter activity happens via Twitter apps such as Tweetdeck. In regards to the stats though as long as the way the stats are gathered and compared is consistent over time then only using Twitter.com traffic still provides a good indication of trends.

These data are totally misleading. You cannot estimate Twitter usage by lookinbg at the twitter.com traffic. TweetStats reports that the twitter.com website, as of Nov 24th 2009, is responsible for only 19.09% of the tweets, via 20.51% of the Twitter users. Read the full analysis here: http://bit.ly/5UOkG9

Good to hear the Facebook are at least taking some action. I appreciate the problem will never go away altogether but steps must be taken to make it as difficult as possible for these spammers.

Facebook has been cracking down in the last 72 hours especially hard-- shutting down ad networks and app developers. They have always been aware of the problem-- and like jaywalking, it's hard to eradicate completely. These people are clever.
